Armageddon 2419 A.D. by Philip Francis Nowlan.

I with interest look in a future, which imagined in a past. Philip Francis Nowlan wrote a novella in 1928 about a man from his time who waked up after centuries in the world conquered by Mongols. In that time still was in thinking about Asian offense, which had term as Yellow Peril appeared in eponymous essay of Russian sociologist Jacques Novikow in 1897. Armageddon 2419 A.D. is one of multiple inspired fictions and serious researches about that.

Nowlan was masterful with writing text. His composition has goodness in reading. Kinda of actuality I got with looking on modern world by seeing everywhere influence of the biggest commieland. Nowlan in imagination about Mongols must have did for analogy with their invasion in the Europe in the thirteenth century and long dominance there. An author much details writes about technologies and how turned the world. Partially of that was realized when many things as airships as flying war machines, which were active in development in top world armies then are absolute unsuitable for military using what will reveal in tragedies in the next decade and the most disastrous will incident with Hindenburg in 1937. Today, these giant things can only find in retrofuturistic and alternative history compositions.

Armageddon 2419 A.D. never reminded of pulp fiction and could be a rapture when Nowlan’s story I accepted more as conception and reading of report by his writing in a way as a personage and then listing of committed actions. That approach becomes more in using in further. Plot suffers in laziness as that Wyoming and New York are close to each other.

The story on Anthony Rogers, who will change name on Buck and will become a popular comic character, indicates in the end on continuation, which appeared in the next year as The Airlords of Han. I’m not with wish to read it.

Perhaps, Nowlan had inspiration from Herbert George Wells. I instantly thought on grandiose The Sleeper Awakes with line of long hibernation, but both composition move in different ways in this part and nothing of plagiarism from the author of Armageddon 2419 A.D.. However, I’ve got information that Nowlan much using from The War in the Air. I checked details on Wells’ book where I didn’t see stealing.
