One month ago, I did checking of filmography of Chad Michael Collins with having wish to see the ninth installment of Sniper films, which wasn’t. Few days later suddenly came trailer of Sniper: Rogue Mission ignited a burning anticipation.
A scriptwriter of previous Sniper: Assassin’s End Oliver Thompson extended his participation to directing and composing the sequel and demonstrated he can handle with everything. His narrating in screenplay and staging is intriguing, always unpredictable, touches reality, has naturalness and I experienced moods in people and situations. Thompson amazes in combination of shots and control with a camera. Inside of it is meeting with old wonderful friends on whom nice to know new (I would like to get, what were about missions in Moscow and Vietnam?). Zero is unchangeable in charming as he was introduced. Lady Death was still a distinctive person, but I started to sympathize to her despite on her past.
This part got involvement of comedian moments, which uses correct in not ruining film’s serious tone by going to grotesque. It is pleasant on “political incorrect”. Although, grotesque gets it’s smell in the end. Snipers know position of each other and don’t decide to shoot for long. It could be a curious duel between an amateur sniper and a military who does it at the first time. Few situations could be savvy elaborated. He misses a target, because she sees lying in a right place a paper, which she was looking for. Nobody in else in police station appeared after unsilenced shot and scream. Thompson wasn’t careful or I more rely, as in every of these misfires, he was careless in that both easily escaped despite the entrance in sniper’s sight. Personally, I didn’t find in that sequence right in using of focus in conversation of the amateur sniper and his brother. Any muddied personage continues to do actions and speaks while focus in case as it works in accent on this place or one character. Careless was in that Brandon could make a shot many times before and there can’t be a human factor in why Zero didn’t continue to climb up.
Thompson is wonderful, but different as the composer. It can be wishful to listen personal a melodic combination in intro credits and exciting a final song as there are score plays against mood of acts as a comedic tone in café and lullaby and drums in sneaking in a house and it can be unreasonable loud.
All misfires are insignificant in another captivating adventure in Sniper flicks where clearly gives indication to a new sequel. I’ll tell this – I don’t bear retirement.
