I can’t push myself to ride in any country which was under the Soviets. I already can’t watch on these cities in virtual walking. It was still in my perception of communistic which in buildings and people. Ukraine is not exclusion as I understood in days.
I was there more than one time. Once I crossed it from north to south. I looked and boarded up houses, which were abandoned after nuclear reactor explosion. That was impressive to see for me a quarter century ago if I precise in dates. While today, I haven’t passion to see Pripyat’. If I want to look on human foolishness, I would come on the streets of any ex-Soviet town and I will be fulfilled even in having everyday thing as it could be in visit of store. Watch on stayed in time and empty edifices can discover in many other places of former commie empire by moving in little cities and/or visiting such districts where no man can see there – I experienced such thing and it greatly inspires for development of a computer game.
That movement through whole state was to Crimea, which never attracted me by terrible heat and ugly buildings. I can’t call it as a resort. These constructions were always in vision when I rode to that half-island as the most memorable was a swift transit through depressive little town Zjitomir.
Another factor, which I look in other way today, a garbage was everywhere and from the very beginning. It makes to believe that you’re in the middle of junkyard. Is it horror, that you can’t leave it though you try to do this? You glance down on a mountain and you see there too.
The other that I wouldn’t say often but too much you hear people speaking mat. It’s a damnation to have understanding of languages which Ukrainians talk.
I don’t need to come to Ukraine by being and seeing a lot in this country but I wasn’t in it’s western part because I had points in that region. It was to L’viv and locations in south direction, which included the Carpathian Mountains. I had a list of attracting me places. But I began a deeper research not so far ago. That made me to cross off everything outside of L’viv. There were edifices had preservation of abandoning – it indicated on corruption in Ukraine, which devastates them in everything. However, that condition is more better. A restoration takes out a historical origin as you notice in buildings had or in process of such so-called works. But it was before because there also can see a trace of communism.
With no favor I have to nature pieces. Their rocks in writing of people informing they were there or whatever. Mountains in occupation of tourists and their tents, therefore no possibility of unity with nature and likely presence of litter. An observatory White Elephant was beautiful from far away while it’s construction has a brick laying in a place intended for windows and surrounded of long-staying scaffolds. Somewhere can see a graffiti.
I reduced in places in L’viv. I don’t want to be in their palaces, which also make to believe that communists were before XXth century. Adding to ridiculous was in seeing on one image of a cheap stall was selling a cognac and wine at Pototski Palace.
But there left several of that I want to see in L’viv and, perhaps, it could take two days maximum. If I will move to this city, it will in a company of fellow people and I willn’t have a necessity which requires to talk with locals because I haven’t desire to use a language they more understand.
