Cameos, episodic roles, main role in horror for VHS to notorious The Room gave some kind fame for an actor and model Greg Sestero. His acting continued in playing of secondary roles until he wrote a book on filming process of The Room and relationship with it’s mysterious creator to which he got name Disaster Artist and it became a bestseller. Small amount years after Greg Sestero founded own studio Sestero Pictures and he already produces the fifth picture. Miracle Valley is his debut as a director.
Duology Best F(r)iends revealed Sestero as a sharpened scriptwriter who talented on amaze, solid dialogs and I always was in wish to know what will next. Screenplay of Miracle Valley is about that. It’s a horror movie, which will surprise by surprise by acts and personages who are of my preferable kind in characteristics. I not so much for personages made for sympathy to audience as it constant in movies. I watched on each actor in Miracle Valley (few of which are familiar from Best F(r)iends.) by seeing their genuine reaction in occurring. Greg Sestero in telling of his story evades stereotypes by don’t allowing them and turning to unexpected way. Miracle Valley has a satisfaction reference “from the survivor of The Room” as it writes trailer. I always adored his sense of humor.
Sestero is talented in directing by showing a right shot and put matching melody. He knows how must behave camera in situations and how create a mood. It’s debut of already matured and individual man. An author of a movie said on his love to horror of seventies. I get this vibe and it’s possible to assume that action happens in that decade if not things from further times. It’s flick talks on belonging to drive-in theaters (not comfortable and not for exciting experience for me.). Maybe, a little correction in conclusion act, but eventually is everything is spectacular. A credit song is precisely matching after happened and I was joyful to it… when the ending scene is similar in approach to the second volume of Best F(r)iends and both times are requiring a clarification. Anyway, that’s life!
