After all, I didn’t rely much on action what was the last in searching for goodness in A Working Man. I became less sure that I will see a lot of inventiveness in these scenes. All kind of fights usually weren’t extraordinary in presented videos. Moreover, there were moments where I didn’t believe in kicks of anybody while the sounds of broken bones and fallen bottle which loudly shattered in few feet somehow were unnatural. Otherwise, watching of materials disclosed expected plain plot. I didn’t want that a movie had joking phrases such as was heard “This is nothing like Fortnite.” It wasn’t going to be classic. And I would make over with A Working Man if not a scriptwriter Sylvester Stallone.
And it wasn’t good. A Working Man is a club of those who used to be great or fine in speaking about film’s director David Ayer in a second. A chaotic in quality scriptwriter and stagemaker, which he was in beginning, ended as a subpar in everything. He was notable for gritty reality in the past and came to astronomical drivel. It was so long and became a legend that he made a good movie. Street Kings, S.W.A.T., Sabotage. He didn’t make to sense an abomination of human trafficking and anything of used to be his trademark in A Working Man.
I read describing about kidnapping of somebody’s child in almost every announced nowadays movie. This flick adds variety to old known formula of protagonist is a single parent because his wife passed and a story will about saving a girl from the kidnappers. But it has no matter that a spouse committed suicide and it wasn’t his child taken as in this film. A uniform entity stays whereas a plot’s nonsense discloses with a line of fighting for custody which depends on who will pay more for attorneys. Statham’s hero will get offer to find a daughter of his employers and he does a typical refuse but, of course, this film willn’t show and glorify builders to disappointment of all communists. He will change his mind and will wake up his put in a box his tough military skills for find that damned girl despite it doesn’t worth if she asks a plethora money because she just finished a first semester and furthermore she works on her parents. It reminds and makes me glad not at a first time that I didn’t marry and didn’t make children and happily feel after that. Come on, who will go on rescue of anybody who plays Fortnite?!
Statham presents another characterless unbreakable hero with standard Hollywood dance skills in fights and aim to film series. Although he had a piece of individuality as his streetwise and reconnaissance but all that is cover. Levon Cade puts on death the people who could give a needful information. And only unexplainable miracles, which emerge after that, keep him on a track.
At overall, a storyline doesn’t flow smoothly. His employers say standard on kidnapping and already jump on asking for help. I surprise to the scriptwriters who all of them are seasoned men (and I want to add source’s novel author Chuck Dixon whose prose is solid.) but I often hear such conversations. Furthermore, they make mistake, which could commit only a very beginner, in making a direct reporting on his wife’s suicide and Levon’s friend blindness by embedding them as just the facts in conversations.
Dialogs make performers to look awkward. Conversations are not natural. I don’t mind, it’s a new technique in acting. But that isn’t well as it was also anticipated. Statham doesn’t strive and can be wrong with demonstration of correct stance which does any person here. He rarely reminds that can be great but that, as everything, was before. The biggest awful in Arianna Rivas who out of nature on total hundred percent.
Ayer doesn’t bring any satisfaction and strong in narrating either in drama or action. His movie has strange decisions with editing.
Dixon said in interview that Sly wants to make films outside of Hollywood system what embarrassed before watching because he did flick with one of these studios (and he doesn’t make outside of banality.). Political correctness in A Working Man is everywhere as Amazon officially requires. Biker’s leader is white in a novel while he is a political correct black in a film but his original name was saved. It is Dutch.
That’s multivariety of plethora of myriad of different races of people variegated my innocent eyes in scenes with bunch of humans. However, let me show respect. I didn’t see an Eskimo ex-Black Mormon lesbian of Welsh origin on twenty-six percent what is absolutely offensive for me. As well as, no one was a representative of Mongol-Hungarian Muslim asexual minorities. I can’t understand how filmmakers dared to not include people from these groups?!
Moreover than usual, a diversity is also in different color suits. Girls on the party, mafia members… But I didn’t see anybody in a dry pink-oregano-grey clothe? I’m offended again!
Levon’s enemy is Muscovy mafia. It’s reasonable to ask “how many times?” I would wish to reveal, was that choice made for safety and not make a so-called insult of any other nations or not.
Originality, if it can describe so, in that it’s a communist Muscovy mafia because one personage calls other a “comrade”. By the way, all members usually prefer to talk in English. However, what can get from a pulp fiction if two Muscovy men have names Wolo and Dimi? Just as Japanese video gamemakers named Americans in eighties.
Speaking of Muscovy language does with a merciless deep accent and emphasis can be in a wrong part of a word. There were only two incorrect translations. Both are curses.
What is more in this drivel? Let’s see: a head of mafia is stereotype of stereotypes in passion to the Italian stereotypes on organized crime and with intention to be a villain of series. That dialog in the end had a terrible scent of TV show what doesn’t amaze due to that Stallone planned it initially; I saw almost whole action in the materials. I want to point that using a pistol as melee weapon kills me every time when I watch that in the movies; Levon Cade keeps a shortgun in hiding on a construction yard, which helps him in beginning. Nothing wrong, because I always do same on every job; a blind man who doesn’t consider himself as it does a stereotypical role of a man who provides guns for a main hero. I would like to have such friend.
Music is a singular what worked well.
