I excited to adventures! Whether I read a fiction or a non-fiction book or experience it in reality. I didn’t want to make a break after taking one more story with Allan Quatermain by Sir Henry Rider Haggard or Treasure Island by Robert Louis Stevenson. This captivation came in meeting with The Lost World by Sir Arthur Conan Doyle, it’s a book I want to have on a shelf.
Sherlock Holmes is wonderful in detective stories whereas I many times collided with bombs in accepting author’s writing style. I never had it with The Lost World. Sir Arthur Conan Doyle amazes in smooth describing of everything by was having in thinking, was it hard or not to give such sentences. This of books are giving impression and experience without witnessing these acts. I always get a shock by recalling narrating on Secundra Dass in the end of The Master of Ballantrae. That what defines a master as The Lost World has multiple memorizing scenes.
A company gathered for adventure is of crazy men (or correctly to write “the four Englishmen”.) whom I usually adored, because I couldn’t accept all their acts. A protagonist whose reason on venture rolled back my eyes and conclusion of it was perfect for him. Maybe, Sir Arthur wanted to joke on knight novels, but anyway the book with many jokes as favorable are quips of professor George Edward Challenger who not once will call himself by first letters of a name. He does an atomic pair with professor Summerlee by arguing, which willn’t stop in coming of death threat. Unclassical professor G.E. Challenger has in characteristics a white-man chauvinism, which had to be a beat it with humor. A lovable moment in dispute on whom need to rely in guiding in a river. Lord John Roxton never demonstrate an arrogance. He is a funny guy and wise words were said before crossing. However, I can’t like him for act he committed in a past. I somewhere wished him a bad fate whereas those people weren’t better. Their company will join by non-white servants and every of them will reveal a personality.
I didn’t see a movie on dinosaurs gave me such incredible staggering in the best meaning as it was with reading of The Lost World. The book had two silver screens adaptations and many direct to video films. I don’t watch to check it by looking on every time inclusion of non-existing in a novel a woman in a cast. I always despise it in book’s adaptation by simple that is a disrespect to original composition. Hah, commerce… Be you damned! I assume that was a reason. However, I am happy to meeting with The Lost World. I heard long time before when I never had a strong interest until accident by getting a list of books where suddenly I was ignited to read it. Maybe, a right time came.
