The Opened Fire. Luger, Colt M1911, Glock 17, Uzi, MP5, Kriss Vector, Thompson M1 and M16A1.

Updated: May 12

I’ve booked shooting on the last day in Krakow. Cracow Shooting Academy gives an excellent variety of weapons. It offers packages. But they either have absence of guns I want to shoot from their catalogue or weapons which don’t interest me. I would like to hold Smith & Wesson Model 29, but it has later Model 686. My wish to feel Dirty Harry myself was shattered as the stock market in 1929. However, there is an opportunity for own variant. I chose Luger P08, Colt M1911, Glock 17, Uzi, Heckler & Koch MP5, Kriss Vector, Thompson M1 and M16A1 planning to use them chronologically to experience power and evolution. Though I forgot on Die Hard’s submachine gun but it didn’t interrupt asking experience.

I’ll say in forward that none of the weapons caused me a discomfort in whining hand, and butts of all submachine guns and assault rifles connected with my shoulder as a plug entered into a socket.

I began with Luger which associative with that this gun Nazi SS officers held. It started to use in 1900 by Swiss Army whereas German Army–through the order of Wilhelm II–adopted the pistol in 1908. Luger used in multiple conflicts in the first half of the XXth century and few dozens years after that, as IRA did.

I believed, this little pistol can hold only in one hand but I convinced that weapon is compact for two hands. However, I wouldn’t take it on fishing and anywhere else. Luger P08 has a big recoil and bullets can shoot anywhere. When I looked on my shooting in the end, it had a wide spreading.

Colt M1911 is a second gun which I willn’t take on meeting with a tax inspector.  A pistol does same long scattering and it’s heavy in holding. I can’t understand that this American pistol still in service with US Army Special Forces, Navy and Marine Corps.

Keeping protection glasses saved me from a cartridge of Glock 17. Gaston Glock invented a perfect pistol. Easy to hold. All bullets move in a straight direction. When I looked on my paper target, which I took all of them from the shooting range for hanging on the wall instead of Poppy Flowers by Vincent Van Gogh and Waterloo Bridge, London by Claude Monet, the gun doesn’t shoot outside – all holes were close to each other.

A legendary submachine gun of Israel Army Uzi. I’m ready to sleep with this gun and hug it as a teddy bear. We are getting one when touch and wrap each other. It becomes unison and of such moments when you feel unity in universe. We come in mad passion and understanding that nothing can’t stop us in this world. Bullets don’t spread and situate near of each other.

A modern submachine gun Kriss Vector is another ideal of weaponry which has a compact weight for holding and precise in shooting.

Thompson M1 which was the assault rifle of American military in World War II. Its unpredictability in bullet reaching can get without looking on a paper target in the end. No balance and you can’t control – it’s a casino roulette. A weapon was progressive for its time.

M16A1 became the assault rifle of US army in the Second Indochina War which is more known as Vietnam War. A gun makes a strong recoil. However, it hasn’t spreading of bullets. Just hold tight.

Came from West Germany MP5 took popularity in conflicts around the world and uses by variable armies, private organizations and many bad guys since its appearance in 1966. No doubt that gun stays legit today. I needed to adapt to the weapon itself, and it was after a first shot. It’s only slightly spread in shooting.

“I was excited!” was that I said to a manager in asked his question on impression.
